Atlético Madrid are ‘totally calm’ as they continue their pursuit of Real Madrid playmaker James Rodriguez.
Marca claim that Diego Simeone’s side are prepared to wait until the last moment to try and land the Colombia international, who has privately revealed his intention to move across the Spanish capital this summer.
It is claimed that Los Blancos will sell James should his €50m valuation be met by a rival club.
James has been heavily linked with a permanent exit from Madrid this summer with both Napoli and Atleti said to be the leading candidates.
However, Napoli wanted an initial loan move for the player and now that the English market is closed, Atleti are growing in confidence on a deal.
James has returned to Madrid following a two-year loan spell at Bayern having started just 13 Bundesliga matches this campaign and is said to want more regular first-team football.
The transfer market in Spain doesn’t close until September 2.
