Atletico Madrid striker Luis Suarez has revisited his departure from Barcelona this summer.

Suarez left Barca for Atletico on a free transfer and has fired his new team to the top of the LaLiga table.

He told France Football: "A lot of people today are wondering why I came to this club. I was clear at the time: Barça kicked me out, they told me they were no longer counting on me.

"After that, it was a decision for me, it was not for the club to decide. It's one thing when you have several years of contract left and the club wants to sell you, but then the club told me that in any case they weren't counting on me.

"They just didn't want me anymore. I have reached an age where I deserve some respect and the right to make the decision I want."
