Atletico Madrid star tests positive for coronavirus after Valencia win
Football Espana
Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak has become the latest La Liga star to test positive for coronavirus.
Coronavirus has torn through Europe again in recent weeks amid the Omicron variant.
And La Liga has been one of the many leagues to have been affected by the issue, with large numbers of players testing positive.
Though, it has been able to weather the storm, with no postponed games to date, unlike the Premier League, which has seen a large number of postponements.
That doesn’t mean it is not still an issue, however, and Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Oblak is the latest to have tested positive.
The goalkeeper will now have to self-isolate and will not be able to take part in training. Meanwhile, tests will take place to check whether anyone else who took part in Atletico Madrid’s win over Valencia are positive.
Thankfully for Atletico Madrid, they have a weekend off this week due to an international break.
That means Oblak won’t miss any action during his battle with the virus, and he should be just fine to face Barcelona on February 6.
