Atlético Madrid star agrees contract termination | OneFootball

A long-time member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Atlético Madrid has reached an agreement on a contract termination with the club.

That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who points towards Saúl Ñíguez as the player in question.

Saúl for his part spent this past season out on loan away from Spain’s capital, with Atléti’s La Liga rivals, Sevilla.

As much came with the 30-year-old no longer featuring in the plans of Diego Simeone and his staff.

Saúl has since gone on to return to the Metropolitano, after Sevilla decided against moving forward with a permanent deal for his signature.

But as alluded to above, the former Chelsea man’s stay back in Madrid will not last at all long…

As per a report from market insider Fabrizio Romano:

‘Saúl terminates his contract at Atlético Madrid and leaves the club after 17 years. Trabzonspor will sign Saúl as verbal agreement is done.’
