Having severely underperformed his once club-record fee this season, it’s been rumoured that Thomas Lemar could leave Atlético Madrid this summer.

However, that may not be the case after all.

According to AS, Atlético Madrid are no longer interested in selling the World Cup-winning midfielder as sporting director Andrea Berta continues to believe in his potential.

In addition, with the transfer market in freefall due to the coronavirus pandemic and Lemar being tied down to Atlético until 2023, the club does not want to part with a player they spent €70m on just two years ago.

Arsenal have reportedly had a very long-standing interest in the player despite Lemar not registering a single goal or assist in 24 matches this season.

Though the rojiblancos have been recently linked to a move for James Rodríguez, it appears that it could be a very quiet summer window.
