Atlético Madrid will reportedly move for Gonzalo Higuaín this summer should Álvaro Morata’s move from Chelsea fail to materialise.
Morata is on loan at the Wanda Metropolitano from Chelsea but the Blues aren’t budging on their €60m valuation of the striker.
It means that Atleti are still on the hunt for a striker for next term and, according to Goal, have set their sights on Higuaín.
The Argentine forward has been sent back to Juventus after spending the first part of 2019 at Stamford Bridge but hasn’t been kept on by the west London side after a disappointing six months.
Diego Simeone’s side could look to end his Juve hell though, and would be willing to pay his astonishing €7m-per-year wages.
Higuaín himself is thought to be keen on a move back to Spain, having spent five years in Madrid with Real.
