Atlético Madrid reach final Mario Hermoso future decision | OneFootball

The powers that be at La Liga giants Atlético Madrid have come to a definitive decision on the future of defender Mario Hermoso.

That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who has confirmed that Hermoso will be on the move in the summer.

The 28-year-old, for his part, has continued to play a pivotal role in the defensive ranks of boss Diego Simeone across the season to date, racking up a hefty 40 appearances across all competitions.

And yet, his future in Atlético’s colours has long been up in the air.

This comes with Hermoso’s contract terms due to expire in just a couple of months’ time.

Despite repeated attempts on the part of the brass at the Wanda Metropolitano to find an agreement on an extension, the stopper refused, unhappy with the terms on offer.

And, as per the aforementioned Fabrizio Romano, as much has culminated in a final decision being reached:

‘Mario Hermoso will not sign [a] new deal and he’s set to leave the club as [a] free agent.’
