Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has paid tribute to Luis Suarez.

This week, Suarez was named winner of the EFE Trophy for the best Ibero-American player in the Spanish Liga last season.

"At this moment he gives us great joy. I was hoping to confirm it. It was a great joy and I think he has been a great joy for all of the Atleticos," Cerezo explained to EFE.

"He had already lived in Spain for quite a long time and the adaptation of a foreign player who comes to Spain is complicated. In this case he knew the Spanish League, all the players, all the teams and it was easy for him to join Atlético de Madrid, which as he knows is a family.
