Atlético Madrid open transfer talks with Galatasaray | OneFootball

La Liga giants Atlético Madrid have on Friday opened negotiations with their counterparts at Turkish heavyweights Galatasaray.

That’s according to transfer insider Matteo Moretto, who points towards Javi Galán as the subject of the talks.

The name of defender Galán has of course positioned itself front and centre in the transfer chatter in Spain’s capital across the summer to date.

This comes amid ongoing efforts on the part of the Atlético brass to move the 29-year-old on once more.

Galán spent the 2nd half of last season out on loan with Real Sociedad, with a number of clubs having since expressed a keen interest in his services, too.

To date, however, no agreement has been found, opening the door for a fresh suitor to position themselves in the running for the left-back.

As per a report from Matteo Moretto of Relevo:

‘Atlético and Galatasaray are negotiating the paid loan with an option to buy of Javi Galán. It is an important condition for Atlético that the Turkish club pays practically all of the player’s salary during the 2024-25 season.’
