Atlético Madrid are still pursuing a move for Geoffrey Kondogbia but may now have to wait until January, according to Marca.
Atleti have special dispensation to complete a transfer for a replacement for Thomas Partey outside of the transfer window, similar to the situation that led to Barcelona signing Martin Braithwaite in February.
There have been various reports that the 27-year-old is keen on a move to Wanda Metropolitano but it appears that a deal may have to wait until the January transfer window after all.
Atlético have until November 5 to get the deal over the line and Marca are reporting that Valencia have no intention of letting go of their player without a fight.
The conditions of any potential incoming state that Diego Simeone will have to bring in a player who is either without a club or who resides in LaLiga.
Despite both Atleti and Kondogbia wanting the move to go ahead, it seems Los Ches are intent on making it difficult meaning Simeone will have to retreat to the drawing board.
