Atletico Madrid hero Forlan insists Joao Felix now living up to price-tag

Former Atletico Madrid striker Diego Forlan believes Joao Felix is coming into his own this season.

The €120m signing from Benfica has battled for consistency this term.

But Forlan told Record: “Obviously everyone expected that João Félix would have responded better last season due to the amount of money they paid for him. But he is a young player and you have to handle him with great care.

"This season he is proving his worth. He has had moments of great quality and has scored important goals, as well as assists."

He added: "João Félix is a great player. The truth is that he is still young, but he has great talent and this season has gone well for him. Over time he will adapt to Atlético. He is a player with a great future."
