Atletico Madrid defender Stefan Savic named MOM after Man City brawl

Atletico Madrid defender Stefan Savic was named man of the match for last night's 0-0 draw with Manchester City by L'Equipe.

L'Equipe gave him a rating of seven out of 10.

Savic was heavily involved in the late 22-man brawl at the end of the Champions League semi-final, dragging Phil Foden off the pitch, headbutting Raheem Sterling and pulling Jack Grealish's hair as his frustration got the better of him as the Spanish side chased the game.

Despite his part in the ugly scenes, L'Equipe insisted that Savic had been the best on the park.

They wrote: "Of the three Madrid centre backs, He was the one who appeared most serene.

"Clean in his interventions while being rough in the duels, he mastered his zone and tamed each Mancunian who ventured there."
