Atletico Madrid coach Simeone happy giving son Giuliano senior debut
Tribal Football
Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone gave son Giuliano his debut in last night's 0-0 draw with Granada.
Giuliano had his first four minutes with the Atlético Madrid first team. The striker came on in the 91st minute with the number '27' on his back, replacing Marcos Llorente.
Giuliano is the 39th youth player to make his debut under Simeone. He becomes the third to do so this season after Javi Serrano and Carlos Martín. The Argentinian attacker achieves what his brothers Giovanni and Gianluca have not yet done, that is, play for Atlético coached by his father.
Simeone said afterwards: "I thought of him as a footballer. We needed a striker, he showed what he has, speed, intensity and hopefully when he comes in he can stay there, because he has good potential."
