Atlético Madrid moved four points clear of Barcelona at the top of LaLiga with a victory over Real Sociedad on Wednesday.

Atlético got off to a flier and it didn’t take them long to open the scoring, when Yannick Carrasco beat goalkeeper Álex Remiro with a great touch and strike.

It was soon 2-0, as Luis Suárez slipped Ángel Correa in on goal, and the Argentine slid a cool finish into the corner.

La Real’s Igor Zubeldia pulled one back with seven minutes remaining to set up a nervy finish, but Atleti held on for a massive three points.

Diego Simeone’s side now know that victories over Osasuna and Valladolid in their final two games will guarantee them the LaLiga title.

However, Real Madrid will be hoping to cut the gap at the top to two points when they face Granada on Thursday.
