Atletico Madrid aiming to make as many as seven signings this summer | OneFootball

Diego Simeone has promised an important transfer window for Atletico Madrid this summer, and there are plans for widespread changes to be made to the first team squad. Significant departures are the first call for the sporting department, after which signings can be considered.

As per MD, Atleti have four players down as nailed-on to depart: Mario Hermoso, Gabriel Paulista, Stefan Savic and Javi Galan, who has spent the second half of the season on loan at Real Sociedad. Saul Niguez, Thomas Lemar, Memphis Depay and Alvaro Morata could also be sold, provided that acceptable offers are received.

In terms of signings, as many as seven could be targeted by the sporting department: two centre-backs, one left wing-back, one or two midfielders, and one or two attackers.

It was a poor season for Atletico Madrid, and it’s expected that they need to make changes in order to get back among Real Madrid and Barcelona at the top-end of the table. It remains to be seen how their transfer window plays out.
