Atlanta United have announced the signing of Aiden McFadden to the club's senior roster as a temporary U-20 call-up replacement.

During the period between June 18 and July 3, Major League Soccer and the MLS Players Association have agreed to an exception on limitations regarding short-term loans for clubs with players called up to U-20 national teams.

Atlanta United forward Tyler Wolff has been called into the United States' roster for the upcoming Concacaf U-20 Championship, with their campaign beginning against St. Kitts and Nevis on Saturday.

As a result, the Five Stripes have been allowed to move McFadden up from the club's USL affiliate, Atlanta United 2, on a temporary basis.

McFadden, 23, has been part of the Atlanta United setup since January 2021 after being selected 59th overall in the MLS SuperDraft. Since then, he's made just one senior appearance for the club as a late substitute in a 3-0 defeat to the Colorado Rapids in March 2022.

The Pennsylvania native has appeared 41 times to date for ATLUTD 2, notching eight goals and two assists. McFadden is able to play in defense, midfield, or attack and will bring great versatility to Gonzalo Pineda's roster - though he is primarily a winger.

In Wolff's absence, Atlanta United - 11th in the Eastern Conference - return from the international break at home to Inter Miami on Sunday before traveling to Toronto FC the following weekend.
