Atlanta United have announced that they have parted ways with head coach Gonzalo Pineda Monday morning.

The Five Stripes have hit shaky ground to start the 2024 MLS campaign, currently sitting 13th in the Eastern Conference after a loss to rivals Charlotte at the weekend.

Under Pineda, Atlanta United won 38 games, drew 31 times and lost 41 matches and have failed to live up to the lofty expectations of the club.

“We are grateful to Gonzalo for his commitment and dedication to the club over the last four seasons,” Atlanta United CEO and President Garth Lagerwey said.

“He has been an exemplary ambassador for the organization, and we want to thank him for his contributions to the club.”

Rob Valentino will take over as interim manager while the club search for a long-term replacement.
