AC Milan will face a rotated Liverpool side tonight at San Siro who have already secured their progress to the last 16 of the Champions League.

MilanNews spoke to James Pearce of The Athletic to get some insight on the team news concerning Jurgen Klopp’s side, and he confirmed that Virgin van Dijk, Jordan Henderson, Thiago and Jota should be among those rested, while James Milner is not available due to the suspension after picking up three yellow cards.

There are five young players who have travelled to Italy with the team in Tyler Morton, Harvey Davies, Conor Bradley and Elijah Dixon-Bonner, all of whom could play a part of the match with Morton tipped to start.

Pearce believes Alisson will be in goal with Neco Williams and Kostas Tsimikas to start in place of Alexander-Arnold and Robertson at right-back and left-back respectively. Nat Phillips or Joe Gomez should be paired with Ibrahima Konate in the centre of defence, while Morton and Oxlade-Chamberlain should join Fabinho in midfield.

In attack Divock Origi and Minamino should get a start in place of Jota and Manè, though Mo Salah will still be present it seems.

Probable Liverpool XI (4-3-3): Alisson; Williams, Phillips, Konate, Tsimikas; Morton, Fabinho, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Salah, Origi, Minamino.
