Athletic Club to announce deal for Al-Nassr star this week | OneFootball

La Liga outfit Athletic Club are expected to make official a fresh addition to the club’s defensive ranks over the days ahead.

That’s according to Marca, who point towards Aymeric Laporte as the player primed to link up with Ernesto Valverde’s troops.

The name of stopper Laporte – currently plying his trade in Saudi Arabia with Al-Nassr – has of course long proven a prominent one in the media chatter surrounding Athletic Club.

As much comes after word was forthcoming early in the summer that those behind the scenes at San Mamés had set their sights firmly on a reunion with the 31-year-old.

And if the latest word stemming from the media this weekend is anything to go by, then the Basques now look all set to land their man.

As per a report from Marca:

‘The 31-year-old center-back has secured a three-year, extendable contract with Athletic Club, and the agreement will be announced shortly.’
