Athletic Club announce injury blow after Real Betis clash | OneFootball

La Liga outfit Athletic Club have announced a blow for a member of the club’s attacking ranks on the fitness front.

This comes amid confirmation that Álvaro Djaló is set for an incoming spell on the sidelines.

Winger Djaló was for his part introduced off the bench on Sunday, as Athletic made the trip to Seville for a league meeting with Real Betis.

En route to an entertaining 2-2 draw, however, the summer arrival in Spain picked up an injury problem.

As per a statement across Athletic Club’s website and social media platforms:

‘Álvaro Djaló finished yesterday’s match at the Benito Villamarín against Real Betis Balompié injured and underwent tests this morning.

‘The player suffers a bilateral sprain in his right ankle and is awaiting further tests.’

Though the Basque club have not provided a precise timeline for Djaló’s recovery, it looks highly unlikely that the 25-year-old will be available for selection to face Girona this coming Saturday.
