The Club World Cup was a fantastic tournament for Chelsea fans. Their team got better and better, and put in their best performance in a long time in the final to beat PSG and win the title.
Now we’re all coming back down to earth, it’s time for the club to roll their sleeves up and get in the mud capitalising on that success. With so many good players already added this summer, the priority has to be on selling some of the unwanted first team squad members eating up the wage bill.

The list is extremely long, as we all know, and players like Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku could certainly go if the right offer comes in.
But in terms of the first team players who are actually “up for sale,” Simon Johnson of the Athletic’s piece names 7: Raheem Sterling, Ben Chilwell, Joao Felix, Renato Veiga, Armando Broja, Lesley Ugochukwu and Axel Disasi.
You’ll notice that quite a few of them are still kicking around from last year – Sterling, Chilwell, Broja and Disasi would all have left last summer had a permanent bid with sufficient weight come in.
Then you add Veiga and Felix, who only arrived last summer but are no longer needed. Ugochukwu has to feel hard done by – he’s barely had a sniff since being bought 18 months ago and looks a really promising player.
Sterling and Chilwell are on the biggest wages, and have already been up for sale for a year. They are the absolute priority, but we’re not hearing of much concrete interest in either of them.
There’s been some vague chatter about Leeds wanting Chilwell, but in terms of Stering it’s radio silence after a disappointing year on loan at Arsenal.
