Athletic Bilbao name Sergio Navarro and Mikel González to Lezama roles | OneFootball

Athletic Bilbao have named Sergio Navarro and Mikel González to the front office.

Navarro has been appointed director of Lezama and Mikel González, director of sporting development and transfers.

Navarro has already implemented his player training manual at the Rubin Kazan Academy (2011-2013) and subsequently became the director of the Villarreal academy (2014-2017), developing one of the best youth academies in LaLiga today.

As coach, among other experiences, his work with Paco López at Levante (2018-2021) stands out, being responsible in the coaching staff for the individual development of the player, in a project that has transcended by the innovative commitment to transfer the methodology of youth training to the professional elite.

Gonzalez will be responsible for the sporting development of Lezama's youth players in professional football. Together with the management of the factory, he will be part of the definition of the Lines of Succession in the sporting structure, participating in the preparation of the squads and, especially, identifying the projection of players and planning their best sporting development, including the selection of destination, coordination and control of the loan players to ensure their growth and value in them.
