Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Unai Simon admits he had an "unforgettable summer".

Simon established himself as Spain's No1 during Euro 2020.

He said, "I didn't even expect to make my debut in Athletic or in the Spanish national team, but in the end I made it. The coach Luis Enrique gave me given confidence and after the European Championships came the Olympics. I lived an unforgettable summer.

Simon also spoke about his start to the season: "I have always taken things responsibly, but I am a human being and therefore I think to enjoy everything that happens to me to the fullest.

"At Athletic we have a young squad, but we are an equipazo. If we can give continuity to our performances and also to the results, we will be able to do great things this year."
