Exeter City host Oldham Athletic on Saturday aiming to extend their unbeaten run in League Two and make it four successive wins in the process.

Matt Taylor’s side head into their clash with Oldham in excellent form with them having managed to pick up three straight wins against Crawley Town, Mansfield Town and Salford City in their last three league matches. That leaves them in fourth place in the table and they are only outside the automatic promotion spots by a single point.

They also managed to secure a win in a dramatic encounter against Bristol Rovers in the Papa John’s Trophy in midweek as Taylor’s side managed to win the game 5-3.

It will be expected that Exeter keep their unbeaten and winning run in the league going against Oldham tomorrow.

Oldham head into the game needing to pick up results with them just above the relegation zone after a difficult start to the campaign. However, they did manage to hold League One Ipswich Town to a 1-1 draw in the FA Cup last weekend to show their potential to cause a surprise result.

Taylor does have one or two injury and suspension issues to be concerned about heading into this game, but it is likely that he will largely stick with the same side that has been performing well in the league.

That comes despite a couple of other players giving a good account of themselves against Bristol Rovers.

In goal, Cameron Dawson has been an ever-present in the league for Exeter during his loan spell from Sheffield Wednesday. The keeper continues to be a crucial player and he will be aiming to add to his tally of five clean sheets against Oldham.

It is likely that Taylor is going to be sticking with the back three that started against Bradford City in the FA Cup and in the last game against Salford in the league. That comes despite Sam Stubbs having finally made his return from injury against Bristol Rovers.

All three of Alex Hartidge, George Ray and Pierce Sweeney will therefore be expected to maintain their places in the side ahead of Dawson.

At right-wing-back, Jake Caprice is likely to also feature from the start once again for Exeter, while down the left-hand side it is expected that Josh Key will again be named in the starting line-up.

Taylor has some issues to contend with in the midfield area with Timothee Dieng suspended and Kyle Taylor likely to miss out through injury. As a result, he could start both Archie Collins and Nigel Atangana together with Matt Jay playing in the number ten role.

Upfront, Taylor is likely to stick with the partnership of Sam Nombe and Jenvani Brown.
