Atalanta’s Jose Palomino fails doping test ahead of Serie A season | OneFootball

Atalanta defender Jose Luis Palomino has surprising failed a doping test, ahead of the start of the Serie A season.

ANSA have reported recently about Palomino’s situation, claiming that the doping test was a surprise one and the prohibited substance found in the defender’s body is said to be nandrolone. The doping test was taken by Nado (National Anti-Doping Organisation) Italia recently.

The National Anti-Doping Court has now suspended the player at the request of the Nado Italia Prosecutor Office now.

The 32-year-old Palomino had joined Atalanta from Bulgarian side Ludogorets in the summer of 2017 and he has been an important player for Gian Piero Gasperini’s side over the years. He made 34 Serie A appearances for La Dea last season and scored one goal for the club. He also played for the club in the Champions League, appearing five times last season and he has been a key cog of Gasperini’s wheel.
