Atalanta’s Isak Hien and Udinese’s Jaka Bijol are among Inter Milan’s targets in defense for the January transfer window.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, via FCInterNews.
Inter are thinking of signing a defender during the January transfer window.
The injuries to Francesco Acerbi, along with the fact that both he and Stefan de Vrij are well into their thirties have meant that the Nerazzurri have doubts about the reliability of current options at the back.
As such, Inter could move as soon as next month. They are looking at potential targets in the transfer market.
Naturally, one of Inter’s main ideas would be to sign a player with a similar profile to the aging Acerbi and de Vrij.
That would mean a tall, physically strong centre-back with good man-marking ability. Particularly a player already used to playing in the centre of a back three.
And according to the Corriere della Sera, there are two players within Serie A who Inter coach Simone Inzaghi would see as ideal.
One would be Atalanta defender Isak Hien.
Naturally, signing the Swede from direct title rivals in January wouldn’t be easy. But former Hellas Verona defender Hien is very much on Inter’s radar.
Alternatively, the Corriere della Sera notes, Inter’s interest in Udinese defender Jaka Bijol remains very much alive.
