Representatives of Borussia Dortmund’s Nico Schulz are in discussions with Atalanta, according to Sport1’s Patrick Berger. The Serie A club are interested in completing a deal before tomorrow’s deadline, but it remains to be seen as to whether the deal will actually go through.
It’s been known for some time now that Borussia Dortmund would allow Schulz to leave the club following the failed €25m transfer in 2019, when he joined from fellow Bundesliga side Hoffenheim.
Schulz, who has a contract until 2024, is yet to play for BVB this season and per Transfermarkt, his market value has somewhat diminished to just €2m. Since his transfer in 2019, he’s played 61 games across all competitions.
He’s also not the only player who could be leaving the club on deadline day. Thorgan Hazard has considerable interest from Eredivisie side PSV, but are yet to reach an agreement with Borussia Dortmund. Per Rik Elfrink, PSV are expected to complete a deal for the Belgian.
