Gian Piero Gasperini has yet another injury concern to deal with ahead of Atalanta’s crucial Champions League clash against Club Brugge on Tuesday night, as centre-back Isak Hien is now set for a spell on the sidelines.
The Sweden international underwent medical examinations on Tuesday, which have confirmed that he has picked up a first-degree injury to the adductor muscle in his left leg.
He is expected to miss around three weeks of action as a result, which rules him out of the Champions League play-off match against Club Brugge, which Atalanta need to win in order to reach the round of 16. He will also miss out on Serie A matches against Empoli and Venezia, and possibly against Juventus and Inter as well.

The injuries are stacking up for La Dea two thirds of the way through the season. Giorgio Scalvini recovered from an ACL injury in December, but has since picked up a serious injury to his shoulder. Fellow defender Odilon Kossounou has also missed the last 10 games.
January signing Daniel Maldini was struck down by an injury almost immediately after making his Dea debut, while Gianluca Scamacca is also out, despite having returned from a cruciate ligament injury in January, similarly to Scalvini.
Atalanta have also been without Sead Kolasinac and Ademola Lookman for their last few games, but both are back in the squad and are expected to be involved against Club Brugge on Tuesday night.
