Atalanta confirm signing of former Arsenal defender on free transfer

Atalanta have confirmed the signing of Sead Kolašinac on a free transfer.

The 30-year-old defender joins the Serie A club after his contract with Marseille expired at the end of June.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina international had made 58 appearances for the French outfit in his two years at the Stade Velodrome.

Prior to playing for Marseille, Kolašinac played for both Schalke and Arsenal, meaning this will be his first experience of Italian football.

He is set to be joined in Bergamo by fellow defender Mitchel Bakker, who is on the verge of a move from Bayer Leverkusen.
