Inter square off with Atalanta in just a couple of days.

The match pits the team who are top of the Serie A table against the side who occupy the last Champions League place in fourth.

Inter have certainly enjoyed some imperious form over much of the season so far.

There have been a couple of stumbles, against Sassuolo and Bologna.

However, twenty-five points from thirty means that the Nerazzurri are good value for top spot.

But Atalanta will also be formidable opposition for Inter.

Like the Nerazzurri, La Dea have won both of their matches back from the international break. And also like Inter, they have yet to concede a goal since the break.

Percassi looked ahead to Saturday’s match against Inter.

He said of the Nerazzurri that “So far they have proven to be the strongest and most complete team in the league.”

“Congratulations to them for the team they’ve put together,” the executive continued.

He also made clear that “We hope to make a good impression in front of our fans.”

And Percassi also explained why La Dea decided to move for striker Scamacca. They signed the Italian international from West Ham United ahead of Inter.

“We strongly believed in and wanted Scamacca,” he said. “Because we were certain we were bringing a striker with great potential back to Italy.”

“For this reason we invested a lot of money to buy him.”

“He and the other new arrivals chose us,” the Atalanta executive added. “That’s a source of great pride.”
