Atalanta announce Gomez dropped for Roma game

Atalanta have announced Papu Gomez has been dropped for today's game with Roma.

A statement has made it very clear this was a joint decision and not due to any fitness issues:

“The coach, in agreement with the club, has decided not to call the player Alejandro Papu Gomez due to a technical choice."

Gomez isn't in the plans of coach Gian Piero Gasperini after a bust-up a fortnight ago.

The Argentine now may've played his last game for the club.
