Atalanta have announced that their record signing El Bilal Touré has undergone surgery to repair a torn tendon in his right thigh.
The striker, who only joined the club from Almería weeks ago for roughly €30m, suffered the injury in a friendly match prior to the kick-off of the new season.

In a statement released by Atalanta, it was confirmed that the surgery was successful and that Touré has already started the rehabilitation process.
It is rumoured that the Malian international could be out for up to four months, which would be a serious blow to the Bergamo side’s hopes of challenging for the Serie A title.
