The Liverpool contract situation looks increasingly worrying the more you look at it, with several stars set to enter expiry at the same time. All of Alisson Becker, Virgil van Dijk, Sadio Mane, Jordan Henderson, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah have just two years left on their current contracts.

According to Kevin Palmer, as cited by LFC Transfer Room, there is an expectation that at least two of those players will not sign new deals. Who those two players are remains to be seen, but we can at least rule out Alisson Becker, who is set for a new contract, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Considering the age range of these players, the report comes as little surprise. Unfortunately, Fenway Sports Group’s policy seems to be out with the old and in with the new, potentially leaving those reaching their 30s high and dry.

The hope will be that the most important players are rewarded no matter the age, and those that are not given a new contract are replaced adequately at Liverpool. Heading into the new season, Jurgen Klopp will want as many key players tied down as possible,
