Aston Villa full-back Lucas Digne has reportedly rejected the opportunity to join Galatasaray.

Reports in Turkey claimed Digne had agreed to join the Istanbul giants on a season-long loan, but the French international tweeted a denial of the story on Wednesday.

And The Athletic have subsequently reported that the 31-year-old has rejected Galatasaray, and is poised to remain at Villa Park as things stand.

Digne joined the club in January 2022 and is under contract until the summer of 2026. He has so far made 93 appearances for the Villans, scoring four goals and registering 10 assists.

If he does remain at the club, he will have new signing Ian Maatsen as competition for the left-back spot next season, with the future of Àlex Moreno currently unclear.
