Aston Villa have no intention of selling Danny Ings this summer despite recent reports linking him with a move to Manchester United.

Ings moved to Villa Park from Southampton last summer in a deal worth a reported £30m and went on to score seven goals in his first season at the club.

90min recently reported that Villa were considering selling the 29-year-old after his disappointing return in front of goal, and former club Southampton were credited with an interest, along with Brighton and newly promoted Bournemouth.

Then on Sunday, the Express claimed that both Manchester United and Arsenal were considering the England international as a potential back-up option should they miss out on their main attacking targets this summer.

But on Monday, Sky Sports poured cold water on the rumours by reporting that Villa have no intention of selling Ings, with manager Steven Gerrard viewing the striker as an “integral part” of his squad.

Ings signed a three-year contract last summer which runs until June 2024.
