This past summer, Paris Saint-Germain explored various options to strengthen their attack for the 2024-25 season, with Aston Villa’s Jhon Durán among those on their radar.

In October, Eduardo Burgos of Diario AS reported that Bayern Munich and PSG submitted offers for Durán during the summer transfer window, but Aston Villa turned them down. Manager Unai Emery sees the young forward as a future star.

However, PSG and Bayern Munich aren’t the only clubs eyeing Durán. A recent report from Fichajes indicates that Arsenal and Barcelona are also keeping tabs on the Colombian as the 2025 transfer windows approach.

Is Jhon Durán ready to stay long-term at Aston Villa?

Durán was on the verge of leaving Aston Villa this summer, but it now looks like he’ll be staying. Even though he’s not the No. 1 striker, it appears that the player’s content with his role in the squad.

The Colombian played a key role in Villa’s vital UEFA Champions League victory at RB Leipzig this week and shared his thoughts with the club’s media afterward.

“I’m just happy to be here,” Durán said (h/t The Mirror). “I actually love the competition I have going with Ollie Watkins. When it’s my turn, I will step up, and hopefully I can score and help the team.”

Durán is under contract until 2030 and has a transfer value of €35 million per Transfermarkt. Nonetheless, that amount should be increasing considering the player’s performance this season as he’s scored ten goals in 23 appearances across all competitions.
