In a recent report, The Athletic (subscription required) stated that Aston Villa youngster Aaron Ramsey is set for a loan move in January after the Villans decided to opt against loaning him out last summer. It is understood that the West Midlands side are open to revisiting the possibility of sending the English prospect out on loan during the winter transfer period.

Ramsey’s Recent Rise In English Football

Ramsey enjoyed an impressive rise at Villa Park and did well to make his debut off the bench for Dean Smith’s senior team in the 6-0 victory over Barrow in the EFL Cup earlier this season. The English playmaker has made 24 appearances for Aston Villa’s Under-23 team so far, netting 12 goals and picking up six assists across various competitions.

The 18-year-old has already caught the eye in the Premier League 2 and seems to be in for a very bright future in English football. Hence, a loan spell away from Villa Park to a club where he can play regular first-team football seems to be the right pathway for the English starlet if he wants to become a future starter for the Villans in Premier League football.

Ramsey has got less than two years remaining in his Villa contract, so Dean Smith would be wise to let him go out on loan in January so that the youngster can return as a much-improved version of himself next summer. Furthermore, the Villa head coach would be in a far better position to decide on whether to tie him down to a new contract or let him go permanently for a cut-price fee at the end of this campaign.

Ramsey Set For A Loan Move In January: Good Move For Both Parties?

At the tender age of 18, Ramsey has done remarkably well to establish himself as a decent goal-getter for Mark Delaney’ Under-23 team. He has got a knack for finding the back of the net and can even set up a few clear-cut chances for his teammates to score.

The English teenager has got the ceiling to become a household name in English football as long as he continues to work hard on getting better in the coming seasons. A successful loan move away from Villa Park in the second half of this campaign could do wonders for the player’s confidence.

The Villans can also find out a lot about Ramsey if they decide to let him go out temporarily this winter so that the youngster can earn regular game time and take some strides towards improving himself in 2022. With all things considered, Ramsey’s loan departure in January seems like a good move for both the player and the West Midlands club before they decide to reunite once again next summer.
