Aston Villa trigger option to complete Anwar El Ghazi transfer | OneFootball

Aston Villa are set to sign Anwar El Ghazi on a permanent deal after triggering their option to sign the winger.

El Ghazi spent last season on loan at Villa Park, scoring six times as the club secured promotion.

Now he is expected to be with them as they return to the Premier League.

According to L’Équipe, Villa will take up an option to sign El Ghazi from Lille permanently for €9m (£8m).

“I have really enjoyed it here and I love the club, and the fans,” El Ghazi said after Villa won the play-off final at Wembley.

“I have to talk with my agent now. This club is amazing and I will be very happy if I can stay here.

“But we have to figure it out first with Lille and I hope everything goes well so that I can stay here.”

Now it seems he will stay with the club.

El Ghazi is the club’s second signing of the summer after they completed a deal to sign Jota on Wednesday.
