On Tuesday night, Sky Sports reported that Aston Villa centre-forward Scott Hogan has undergone a medical at Sheffield United ahead of a loan move that will last until the end of the season.
Sheffield United are currently vying for automatic promotion to the Premier League. They currently sit in third in the Championship table, three points behind Norwich.
Hogan joined Villa from Brentford two years ago for a fee of €10.5m that could potentially rise to €14m, however, he has only made six substitute appearances in the Championship this season totaling 68 minutes.
Hogan’s only start of the season came in their 3-0 FA Cup loss against Swansea earlier this month.
In 61 appearances with Aston Villa in all competitions, Hogan has amassed just 10 goals and four assists – hardly a good return at any level.
Bristol City were also said to be interested in a potential six-month loan.
