Aston Villa sign Sevilla's Ludwig Augustinsson on season-long loan

Aston Villa have confirmed that Sevilla defender Ludwig Augustinsson will join them on a season-long loan.

Augustinsson has been a perennial part of the Swedish national team over the past six years, playing 46 times.

The central defender moved to Sevilla from Werder Bremen in 2021 but has found first team opportunities hard to come by.

The 28-year-old will join up with Steven Gerrard’s side in the coming days as they play three games in Australia.
