According to a report from Birmingham Live, Aston Villa are potentially planning to move in for Samuel Chukwueze of Villareal this summer. The La Liga forward is being valued at £15 million, which is well under the budget of the Villans for the next transfer window. Hence, we can expect this deal to go through at the end of this season.

Chukwueze’s Impressive Numbers For Villareal So Far This Season

Chukwueze is having an impressive campaign at the Spanish club, as he has managed to put in a series of productive performances as the focal point of their attack. The 23-year-old has banged in four goals and grabbed five assists in 28 matches for Villareal this season across all fronts.

The Nigerian attacker has been reliable from the right flank after averaging 1.4 shots, 1.2 key passes and 2.0 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Spanish first division. He has even been tidy when distributing the ball in the final third, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 77.5% in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).

His contract at Estadio de la Cerámica expires in the summer of 2024, so Villa could get him on board for a cut-price fee at the end of this season.

Should Emery Bring Him To Aston Villa?

Samuel excels at engineering space for himself to get a few shots in at goal. He has got the vision to create a few promising chances for his teammates on the attacking end of the field and is also quite intelligent with his movements in and around the opponent’s penalty box.

The Nigerian talent has developed a knack for scoring some important goals for his side, so we can expect him to do the same at Villa Park. At 23, his best years are still ahead of him, which leaves a lot of room for development.

We can expect Chukwueze to add more goals to Unai Emery’s attacking department at Aston Villa. The gifted winger is already good enough to serve as a valuable member of the West Midlands squad and could go on to establish himself as a key player in the long run. However, it remains to be seen whether he can make a smooth transition to life in English football.
