In a recent report, Grada 3 mentioned that Aston Villa are set to rival Arsenal for Las Palmas custodian Alvaro Valles this summer. It is believed that the Villans are in the running to sign the Spanish keeper later this year.

Valles’ Impressive Form In Spanish Football This Season

The 26-year-old is enjoying a solid campaign at the Spanish club after putting in a run of eye-catching displays for them in La Liga. Valles has conceded 36 goals but has kept eight clean sheets in 31 matches for Las Palmas this season in multiple competitions.

The Spanish talent has done well to average 1.9 clearances and 6.1 long balls per 90 minutes in La Liga. He has also been tidy when distributing possession from the back after completing 78.9% of his attempted passes in the Spanish top tier (stats via whoscored).

His current deal at Las Palmas will run out in the summer of 2025 which could open the door for the Villans to land him on the cheap in the upcoming transfer window

Valles is a solid handler of the ball and can use his quick reflexes to make some important saves at the back for his team. He is often quick to spot the danger and doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when needed. The Spanish keeper is a tidy passer of the ball as well. However, he has still not proven his worth outside Spanish football.

Still, Aston Villa would be wise to move in for Valles in the summer as he is good enough to compete with Emiliano Martinez for a regular starting spot at Villa Park next season. We can expect the Spaniard to add more quality to Unai Emery’s goalkeeping department. He might even help the Villans cope with fixture congestion better in the future.

At 26, Valles is about to enter his prime which makes him a worthy target for the West Midlands club to pursue later this summer. With all things considered, the Las Palmas keeper would be well worth the fight, so Emery should think about going all out to sign him soon.
