Aston Villa midfielder Conor Hourihane is wanted by Sky Bet Championship side AFC Bournemouth this month, as confirmed by The Athletic’s Villa reporter Gregg Evans.
The Villans have been very impressive this season and will feel they can compete with anyone with the European spots in the Premier League more than attainable this year.
Indeed, their midfield with the likes of Douglas Luiz, John McGinn, Ross Barkley and Jack Grealish has been hugely integral to their push and, that said, Hourihane has therefore struggled for minutes of his own.
The former Barnsley man is a quality player in his own right, though, with plenty of creative thinking at his disposal and it sounds as though the Cherries would like to secure his services.
Indeed, Evans reveals the midfielder will leave on loan this month and Bournemouth are eager to get him.
The Verdict
Hourihane would be a fine signing for any Championship side and you’d give Bournemouth improved chances of returning to the Premier League if they managed to secure this particular loan deal.
He’s a player that can unlock defences with a clever pass or drop of the shoulder and Bournemouth’s attackers would relish playing in front of such a talent.
