Chelsea face the prospect of missing out on Aston Villa attacker Morgan Rogers. According to the Daily Mail, the Villains have ‘no plans to cash in’ on the 22-year-old.

Rogers caught the attention of top clubs, including Chelsea, bagging 14 goals and 15 assists for Villa this term, playing a crucial role as they qualified for the Europa League.

With Chelsea looking for a versatile attacker who can play on the flanks and through the middle, their radar has landed on Rogers.

Rogers is close friends with Chelsea talisman Cole Palmer, having been at Manchester City together.

The Blues snapped up former City youth director Joe Shields and several players from their academy.

Palmer, Romeo Lavia, and Tosin Adarabioyo have followed him to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have several excellent midfield players. However, the West Londoners do not have a ball carrier.

They are missing someone who can drag them up the field, and Rogers fits the bill. Unfortunately, Chelsea could miss out on the Aston Villa ace.

His club remains keen on keeping him despite the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules pressuring them to sell and balance the books.

Chelsea need to find alternatives in the transfer market, with the Rogers pursuit looking bleak.

Chelsea are also reportedly interested in West Ham United attacker Mohammed Kudus, and the Blues should focus on signing him if Rogers remains unavailable.

Kudus broke out as a fantastic box-to-box midfielder but has played on the flanks for West Ham and at centre-forward for the Ghanaian national team. He is equally versatile.

His numbers may have nosedived this season, but he took England by storm last term with 18 goals and 10 assists in 48 appearances.

His £85 million release clause is steep, but Chelsea could lessen that fee by throwing in a couple of players to the Hammers.

Kudus is a superb alternative the Blues should consider.
