Aston Villa 'join race' to sign Youri Tielemans | OneFootball

Aston Villa have joined the race to sign Youri Tielemans on a free transfer this summer.

According to The Athletic, Unai Emery’s side are now in contention for the newly out-of-contract Leicester City midfielder.

Tielemans made 195 appearances for the newly-relegated Foxes during a four-and-a-half year spell which delivered FA Cup success.

The Belgium international is expected to be heavily in-demand after his deal at the King Power Stadium expired after the end of the club’s Premier League stint.

Villa are expected to make an imminent approach to Tielemans as interest heats up among several of their top-flight peers.

Emery is understood to be keen on the 26-year-old after missing out on a midfield signing in the January transfer window.

The Villains qualified for the Europa Conference League with a seventh-place finish last season.
