Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa admits Newcastle's late equaliser was frustrating.

The visitors looked set to take the three points when Ollie Watkins' header deflected in off Ciaran Clark with four minutes left to play.

But in the final moments of four additional minutes, Jamaal Lascelles grabbed an equaliser when he headed home a cross from Jacob Murphy.

Konsa said: “It was a frustrating one. I don't think we were good enough throughout the 90 minutes.

“When we went 1-0 up, I thought we could have managed the game a lot better than we did. Towards the end, we should have slowed the game down a lot more.

“I understand that we could have got another goal, but I feel in a situation like this, especially when we're playing away from home, we've just got to slow it right down and make sure we get the three points.

“We didn't do that today and it's a very frustrating one for everyone in the changing room."
