Aston Villa have confirmed the departure of midfield maestro Philippe Coutinho on a season-long loan, with the Brazilian joining Vasco de Gama for the upcoming campaign.
One of Steven Gerrard's final signings at Villa Park, Coutinho was regarded as a coup when he signed from FC Barcelona, but the arrival of Unai Emery saw his career stall in the midlands.

He appeared just 11 times for Emery's side, scoring only one goal in that time before being loaned out to Qatar side Al-Duhail for the 2023/24 campaign.
Now, he is once again leaving the club on a temporary basis as he heads back to his homeland.
