In a recent report, The Sun mentioned that Aston Villa are still keeping a keen eye on Watford winger Ismaila Sarr. It has been claimed that the Villans are eyeing a move to secure the services of the Senegalese wide player but would have to meet Watford’s £25m asking price for their prized asset.

Sarr’s Impressive Run Of Form At Vicarage Road This Season

Sarr is having a bright campaign at the Hertfordshire club as he has managed to produce a run of influential displays for them in the final third. The 24-year-old has banged in seven goals and grabbed four assists in 22 matches for Watford this season across all fronts.

The Senegal international has been a consistent performer on the attacking end of the field based on his average of 2.2 shots, 1.0 key passes and 1.4 dribbles per 90 minutes in the EFL Championship. He has even been accurate with his ball distribution after making 80.8% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via whoscored).

His current contract at Vicarage Road is set to run out in the summer of 2024. Thus, it makes sense for the Villans to try and arrange a cut-price move for him this winter or at the end of this campaign.

Is Sarr A Good Choice For Aston Villa Boss Unai Emery?

Sarr has got the pace to cause a lot of headaches for his marker out on the wide areas. He can shoot the ball with power and accuracy from long range and can also create a few decent plays for others around him in the final third.

The Senegalese sensation is primarily a right-sided wide player but can also operate as a left-winger or operate as a centre-forward if his manager asks him to do so.

We can expect Sarr to add more firepower to Aston Villa boss Unai Emery‘s attack. He is no doubt good enough to challenge for a regular starting spot at Villa Park and could help the Villans push for a European place in the Premier League over the next few years.

At 24, Sarr has got his best years ahead of him and could go on to prove himself to be a success story at the West Midlands club. However, he has previously struggled to find consistency in the Premier League which is something that the player needs to address if he wants to taste success at the highest level.
