Aston Villa announce trip to the Mestalla for Valencia friendly | OneFootball

Aston Villa have added an attractive new fixture to their pre-season schedule.

Unai Emery’s side will round off their summer with a trip to face Valencia at the iconic Mestalla stadium on 5 August – one week before their Premier League campaign begins with a trip to face Newcastle.

Emery has close links with Valencia having managed them between 2008 and 2012, and Villa will compete with Los Che for the Trofeo Naranja, a prestigious annual pre-season competition hosted by the Spanish club since 1959.

The Villans begin their pre-season schedule with a trip to face Walsall on 15 July before they head to the United States, where they will take on Newcastle in Philadelphia, Fulham in Orlando and Brentford in Maryland.

They will the meet Serie A runners-up Lazio at Walsall’s Bescot Stadium before their trip to Valencia.
