Transfer insider Dean Jones has revealed that plenty of clubs are keeping an eye on Hull City winger Jaden Philogene, speaking to Give Me Sport.
The 22-year-old has been a key player for the Tigers this season, following his arrival from Aston Villa.
Many were surprised that Unai Emery's side sanctioned a permanent exit for the talented wide player - and at the moment - he is currently proving why Villa shouldn't have let him go.
They may have a £15m buy-back option, a clause they may end up activating if they are keen to bring him back to Villa Park, but Hull only paid £5m for him last summer and it has clearly been a bad bit of business to let him depart permanently.
Philogene would also need to agree personal terms to head back to the Premier League club and he isn't certain to do that, especially with other clubs thought to be keen on the 22-year-old.
Tottenham Hotspur are reported to be leading the race for the England youth international, who has been very effective in front of goal for Liam Rosenior's side during the 2023/24 campaign.
They are not the only team that have taken an interest, with Dutch giants Ajax also thought to be keen on Philogene.
That's according to Tom Collomosse, who believes the Tigers would want more than £15m to let him leave the MKM Stadium.
That is understandable, considering the 22-year-old only signed a long-term contract in East Yorkshire last summer when he made the move.
It doesn't seem as though it's just Spurs and Ajax who are keen on him, with Jones revealing that there's a high volume of interest in Philogene.
He told Give Me Sport: "Obviously, you start wondering whether Villa wish they had just kept him on board, but I still think this is probably a good moment for him to go and fulfil his own potential.
"It is intriguing that Villa could potentially take advantage of a buyback clause.
"It would seem pretty soon to be considering something like that because you're basically admitting you made a mistake, and you're doing a 180-degree turn very quickly.
If Villa come back in and take Philogene back, Hull won't be able to demand more than £15m with this buy-back clause in mind.
But if they don't make a move for him, they could probably receive much more than that.
The more teams that are in the race for the 22-year-old and the more bids that come in, the more they could generate from his sale.
His sale could have plenty of positive impacts, even if they would be losing a star player in the process.
The revenue generated from a move could allow Hull to spend a decent amount in the transfer market, remain within financial fair play limits and/or potentially allow them to keep another key player like Jacob Greaves.
Any club that wants to sign Philogene will need to spend at least £15m though. And his valuation may increase further if he can add to his goals and assists tally before the end of the season.
